We are investing in our streets to make Edinburgh a better place to
- walk
- wheel
- cycle.
Since our last Active Travel Action Plan was introduced in 2010, we have been working hard to better connect walking, wheeling and cycling routes, with construction underway on new routes, such as the City Centre West to East Link.
Our plans for active travel were approved at the Transport and Environment Committee in February 2024. The active travel action plan is now integrated with our City Mobility Plan along with other public transport, parking, road safety and air quality action plans.
You can download a pdf copy of Delivering Actions for Active Travel. This replaces the Active Travel Action Plan and is a supporting document to the City Mobility Plan. Please note that the pdf is not accessible and if you need help with this, please email activetravel@edinburgh.gov.uk.
