The Welcoming Association
Supporting new Scots to feel less isolated, find friendship and integrate into their local communities. The charity is currently offering free in-person and online English classes alongside a range of friendship groups such as a Conversation Café, Women’s Conversation Space, cultural outings, football, art evenings, guided walks, and many other activities. The Welcoming programme also involves a community fridge, one-to-one befriending, home energy advice, and employment and training guidance for New Scots and refugees aged 18 years and above living in Edinburgh.

Project Esperanza

The Refugee and Migration Team
Providing support to refugee families resettled to Edinburgh by Government resettlement schemes, or any other route, such as Asylum and Family Reunion and families with no recourse to public funds. Support depends on families’ individual circumstances, though it could include help to adjust to UK systems and services, practical support, help towards living independently, support work and financial support.
