Walking and cycling

Edinburgh is very walkable but city centre streets will be very busy and it’s worth noting that it is hilly in places and some streets have cobblestones.

If you’re walking around the city centre, note that some streets are busier than others. Read more about quieter options in our section about quieter places and routes.

Bus & Tram

There are plenty of bus routes to choose from with . They also have a  which has information on services to concerts at Murrayfield and the Royal Higland Centre along with their 'Cruiselink X99' service for visitors arriving into South Queensferry. 

Allow for longer journey times on buses and consider getting off a few stops early to avoid busy streets and bus stops in the city centre.
