Why we are doing market research on this project

Given the importance of the project to the city, councillors asked us to do market research in addition to standard consultation. This has been done recently on other projects, such as the Circulation Plan: Our Future Streets and the City Mobility Plan, and is recommended as part of the Council’s approach to consultation on large projects. This market research has now been completed and will form part of the report back to committee in 2026.

How we define stakeholders

We use the to develop consultations. The Council uses an Integrated Impact Assessment approach to ensure we are complying with our equality and diversity obligations. This is particularly important with regards those who have protected characteristics.

We wrote to these organisations ahead of committee to advise them of the report and to confirm we would write again advising of consultation start date and encouraging participation.

We will continue to monitor the stakeholder list and will add to it where necessary.
