Murrayburn Gate - delivery of 73 new affordable homes
Project Overview
Murrayburn Gate is delivering 73 high-quality, energy-efficient affordable homes for the City of Edinburgh Council, helping meet housing need in the west of Edinburgh.
The development will provide a mix of 41 social rent and 32 mid-market rent homes, designed to modern energy efficiency standards with attractive landscaped communal spaces.
Latest Update – July 2026
The project has reached an important milestone with the first homes approaching handover in August 2026
The initial phase of 12 new social rent homes has been completed, and new residents are anticipated to move into the development later in August 2026 . Construction and finishing work continue across the remaining homes, with further handovers planned over the next two months.
Overall completion remains on programme for late September 2026.

What's next?
Work will continue on the remaining homes, communal areas and landscaping before the development is completed towards the end of September 2026. Further homes will be handed over in phases as they are completed and ready for occupation.
Local access and safety
Traffic plan and working schedules continue to minimise disruption. Local access to the shopping plaza remains.
Controlled pedestrian routes remain in place until all work is complete.
